Smart Meter

A meter is the basic requirement for PV surplus charging.
In most cases, a meter is already installed in a PV system (e.g. Fronius Smart Meter, SMA Energy Meter, etc.). Meter data can usually be obtained directly through the PV inverters and it is not necessary to install an additional meter.
However, if you do not have a Smart Meter installed, you can retrofit an external meter such as the Shelly 3EM.
